Hey for all you Oregon types, The annual Oregon Knife Collectors Association December Mini show is this Coming weekend at the Lane County fairgrounds in Eugene. There will be around 100 tables of knives for sale including Mine and I will have many Kershaws. Come join the fun, It's free to get in and if you are a member you can still get a table for free as well. 8AM - 4PM Saturday December 8th.

just to put my 2 cents in, this is a really fun show. Great for new members and old. I have been a member for 3 years now but my Father in law has been for 20. There are a lot of great deals at this show too. I hope to find a lot of great stuff this year.

Did you read my article on the front page of the December issue about Kershaw customer service and quality ? See you Saturday !!!!

Gonna be kind of a sad show. It will be the first local show since Bob Lum passed away. Even if he didn't have a table at the small show, he was there looking around and visiting with everyone.

I knew he had been ill and didn't have much time left, hadn't heard that he passed. Great guy !! He will be missed.

I've never been to the December OKCA show but wondered about it.

Is it simply a smaller version of the April annual show?

Or, is it more oriented toward say customs, factory, collectors, parts and materials, swords, or what?

Should I expect the fantastic displays of brilliant collections?

Will any manufacturers be on the floor?

If I get the auto bug would I likely be able to scratch that particular itch tomorrow?

You need to wear a pink carnation in your lapel so I can pick you out of the crowd.

Thank you kindly.

So many questions , so little time. You will find autos, it is a smaller version of April w/about 80 tables (we had cancellations due to roads) no manufacturers and not really displays , mostly sales tables for Christmas. No pink carnations, just look for lots of Kershaw on the table , that will be me.

Thank you kindly Dave. I really appreciate the heads up on OKCA mini meet. I'm pretty sure that I would have missed it otherwise.

UPDATE, post show: To take it up a notch, a HUGE thank you Dave. It was my pleasure to meet you. The Christmas goose present has me stunned, really a treasure for me. You are one in two million. My son, Mr. Machete, will love the excellent "now that's a knife" Kershaw Outcast. OKCA people are the most knowledgeable, friendly and generous. I couldn't be happier that I went. Oh, and I had the 5 zippered knife pouches allocated within minutes of getting back to the ranch.

All the best,

oregon

David & Goliath comparison.

The cast goose kershaw is one I hadn't seen before. Appropriate as my hobby is photographing birds in this neck of the woods. Very nice.

I had heard that the handle on the Outcast was too small but it is not for me and I have pretty good sized paws. If fact it feels quite secure in the forward and even in the reverse grip. Now, where did I put my lanyard materials?

It was fun to meet you today. Thanks for the gift you gave me as well, seems it has been a day for giving and receiving, I took a Damascus leek to the show to give my pastor for Christmas and after handing it to him he asked his son if he brought my birthday present. Bryan said yes he had and went to his table and brought this back. WOWWW !!!!

This is a model 4480 Damascus stag knife made in Solingen Germany for Kershaw around 1985. It is very hard to come by. I knew he had won it on ebay a few years ago and he just up and gave it to me. WoWWW ! What a day, and I won a knife from Joejeweler and my friends on the Kershaw forum too !
