Hey guys, I was just wondering who was planning on going to the OKCA mini show on December 11th? Since they got rid of Blade-West the only true knife shows I know about are the 2 OKCA shows down in Eugene (the big one being in April).

Anyway, I was wondering who, if any of you, were planning on being in attendance?

Yeah, hopefully the weather will be better than last year. I still made the drive but it seemed pretty sparse in there.

The mini show has always been more of a club get together than an advertised show for commercial level. Until a couple years ago the club held a potluck supper at the show after closing. Last year table fees were charged for the first time...$20 IIR. Previously it was always free to club members. No admission is charged either and show goers generally are not real knife folks, but spill over crowd from the holiday Market next door. Show and tell time...and can be lots of fun if you keep it in proper perspective.

If you live nearby it is worth the trip. We have had bad luck with weather several times. A variety of knives are available, just not many of any one type. High dollar knives do not move to well. Not many custom makers are there. I expect 80 or so tables to be in use. If attendance is down this may be the last show. It hangs on by a thread due to rising costs and probably low attendance and bad weather causing table holders to have to be unable to attend. Go to the show if you can!

We'll be there. I've been doing both OKCA shows for a long time. The mini show is fun and profitable, but a lot of work. We'll be passing out mistletoe at the table again this year.

See you there.

I have a table at the April show but usually just drive up and get supplies at the christmas show. I did not make it last year as the roads where iced up and not worth getting into a wreck. Hope to make it up this year.

I'll be there. That is if I don't pass 14 wrecks is 10 miles like last year. I turned around and came home. Just was not worth the risk.
