Went yesterday and spotted this.

It was behind a glass case with a few other knives on top of it. I wanted to get a closer look but the vendor was off shopping other tables. friday is a set up day and it's not uncommon for tables to be left un attended. I could tell it was a camillus.

I got to thinking later in the evening, It might be That BK1 I've been looking for, because I know the 7,9 and 10 came with a nylon sheath. So I thought my chances were good on it being a BK1. I just didn't want to pay $200 for it.

Well I was there first thing this morning, she cracked the case and,

Yep BK9, didn't know the nines came with that sheath. Was marked $90 asked if they'd take $80, yep and it's mine. It hasn't been used, no box or anything but a smokin' deal none the less

Very nice! I've been keeping my eyes open at the local gun shows but havn't found a single Becker yet :(
 
1 question though, I thought camillus Beckers didn't have exposed pommel?

Edit: read blade database more often! I thought wrong

Are the Camillus 5160 steel ? I thought I rememeber Ethan saying they were in another post.

that's probably the Brute sheath, so half-way there :) afaik, the Camillus BK9s never came with Kydex.

there's NO way Becker's EVER came in 5160.. :D

of course I don't know what I'm talking about, but I'm sure of it..:D

Oh man, I have been looking for something just like this! I have gone to at least 4 Gun and Knife shows in Oregon and there was nothing even close! There was a booth full of Kabars and a Benchmade lady, but thats as good as it got. Does the sheath fit well??
 
Yep 400 plus tables and only one with any becker at all besides this one I bought. That lady with the beckers did put some ka bar micarta out right before I left and I bought 3 of the 4 there. $30 bucks a pair. Shoulda got all 4
 
What is the expected premium when it comes to Camillus Becker's? Since they're obviously no longer produced I understand there will be a hike. It would be interesting to know since a brand new KA-BAR BK9 is $72.47 so $80.00 sounds like you got away with highway robbery. Part of my first failed Becker purchases was a Camillus BK9 that cost me $99.60.

I thought I read someplace that Camillus knives not in a box are factory seconds, is this true?

I was seriously excited about that thing being a Brute. I was driving home from an event and it hit me "holy hell, that could be a brute" and this was 1am many hours after seeing it behind that glass case. I woke up ready to go get my BK 1. It was still a score though. I like the grind and the thickness of this blade.

premium? depends on model. some folx value Carbon-V. if it's a currently produced model, without change, you can't expect a lot. a different / variant? more. not produced at all? more. or less :) depends on your bargaining skills ;) a Cammy BK9 for instance, is THICKER, yeah? while the Cammy BK2 is thinner. depends what you want :>

now where did you read about this box thing? at this point, there's going to be a lot of Camillus knives circulating new, like new, and used, without boxes, that aren't seconds. FUD.
 
If I would have seen this before I sent back the 9 you let me borrow I would have kept the 9 you sent up. Of coarse I would have included a larger check ;) :D

That, Ka Bar one, was my first and a gift from mom. I'll never sell it. I'll gift that to one of my kids someday.
 
I took a BK1 and a BK10 to the show, both new in box, and no one gave me the time of day, odd, at least to me, was $300 to much to ask for both?
 
I was at the show on Sunday, yep not too many Beckers...Ethan should help us Oregonians out...

I find a lot of people, even knife people, haven't heard of Beckers out here on the west coast. Better for me to buy up all the BK 1 and BK 10's.
