Ok, just kinda smack talk.
It's My forum, I can do what I want....lol

I'm just looking for a place to put this, talking out loud. The last few years have been haunting me. Yes, I'm still ten years old. I Want a dagger.

It's who we Are, we are just born with that itch.....
I've seen and watched Others release some out into the wild. I didn't know what I Wanted, then?
I believe I do now.

Backstory is brief. I love the looks of the A/F dagger that Boker sells. I never seen one up close, I never held one. Idk what they are like? I almost never see them here on the forums, not sure what that means???

At the time, when I was an adult, and allowed myself to be All knives....they just seemed kinda expensive, idk? And mixed reviews on the steel.

I knew I wanted my own version.
Over the years, a boy can dream.
And, draw....and last year I made my first dagger prototype. I feel it turned out near Perfect.
I lost my ass on it. The deal fell through. I didn't get anything, but still it was successful as I learned that I loved the design. It's features.

I'm calling My daggers "Anti-Hero"
This is the First one.

It's almost everything I want. In the hand.
Visually, and maybe if I'm being honest, it "could" be smaller for carry, idk? It does look bigger than it maybe needs to be?

So after that build I've experimented more, made more stabby things. I fall back on what I know and use

Someone reached out, and I'm about to give away one of my favorite knives. Not because I don't love it, but because I feel it's time for someone else who may not of otherwise been able to try it out?
My dog walking knife is a strong influencer in my design style, what I think a knife Could be.
It's not perfect. I don't like the large choil of the BK5, nor do I care for the false edge on top. The handle was bulky, but when I chopped it, something special happened. A bigger blade became easier to carry and Use.

A lightbulb went off in my head, and handle design became my main focus.
I designed similar knives.
I'm working on one, Now.
Here it is unfinished, I'm still shaping the handles, but I hope you can see the influence.

So.....long story short.
I have a new design I came up with last year.
I'm calling it "Sideshow"
It reflects my sense of feeling out of place. Always have..... It's ok, I don't want to belong. I accept my role as being a fringe member of society..... I argue, I disagree, I don't understand the popular crowd. I Poke...
Why do they do the things They do?
Doesn't make sense to me.
And, that's.....Ok.

I cheer for the underdog.
The dredges of society. After all They are the ones getting Stuff done! Kicking Ass.
Chewing bubblegum.
I once worked with a guy who ran carnival rides. Setting them up. Travelled all over. We called him Carnie.
This new knife is for That way of life.
The sideshow freaks. The miscreants. Dirty people. One of Us. One of Us....

You need to cut someone cause they took your (girl, camp, smokes, bed roll, parking spot) whatever..... I don't care.
My Troll Blood don't care. Leave me alone.
I'm Not Responsible for You.

I'm sure Others are like me too, thinking like I do.
This knife/handle style is for you.
For when it's just time to Back Off!

It's very Aggressive.
*Sometimes we gotta be.

This picture is showing some of the evolution.

And here is closer to what I want the final design to be. Still, believe it or not, this Is years in the works. Newest Anti-Hero dagger design next to the original Sideshow design. Can't wait to start making these. Hit me up, if You like daggers?
I'll be ordering enough for a few pieces this Summer.

The Sideshow looks great, for sure! I bet it will be one heck of a useful blade.

Thank You, I think it's going to be one of my regular handle line-ups.

*I don't really see myself so much as a knife designer, I'm thinking about use and function. I'm more of a handle designer....haha. IF that was such a thing. These are all the Same handle....the bottom 10v blank isn't as canted. The Antihero dagger will have the built in guard.

My newest "Sideshow" handle will be on a variety of knives. Here are some that people asked me to do these are in steels D2 I got, CD1, and CPM Cruwear, others will trickle in I'm sure..... The "Antihero " dagger is just the newest, but I'm really excited for ALL of them. I have a bunch, so I hope Others like them too! :D

This original post is kinda showcasing the flow of a design. I hope to update with the next looks.

I'm liking the Sideshow style handles, and the pointier points. Very nice developments!

Thanks a Bunch!!!
The second from the top is Straight from a request. I would generally like some arch with the edge, but I'm curious if I'm going to have a favorite blade shape. The original is the top shape. The handle is canted for Very aggressive cutting.

It's a mean tool.

That is a very cool and original dagger design. The asymmetry makes it look alive. Feisty and eager.

I like how you said that. I like how you think.
I agree.
In nature, rarely are there lines. We aren't drawn with lines, I feel we are made up of subtle curves.... I design my blades soft. Lots of smooth, blended into other smooth and blended.

I think Scagel said the only thing sharp on a knife should be the edge. I like That idea.
I take that to mean bevels, pommels, guards, the sweep of a spine. Everything. My convex grinds hold beautiful there, too.

This is My interpretation of the Boker AF dagger. Only more fluid, and better made. I Always wanted one when I was younger, but couldn't justify it. Mine is a guilty pleasure. .... which maybe is a better name, than what I was planning? "Anti -Hero". Haha

This handle looks very specific, but it's the opposite. It works no matter how you hold it.
I want my knives grabbed First.
However you Need them, they are ready.

A early knife design I worked out (not this one) I dubbed "Always" for the name.... It was my belief that a knife should be ergonomic with every grab. That is sort of My general design philosophy.

I've said this before, that I don't really design knives. Even though numerous people say my look is clearly my own. I feel I just design handles. The blades, I can swap and choose for each occasion.whats needed, what works.
That's the easy part.

I'm glad that You like my work.
Thanks for visiting my page. I don't get lots of traffic, I'm sorry I didn't see and respond to your post earlier.
Thanks

Another picture(s) of the original concept.

It's funny looking, but very well balanced.
It just Looks big in the hand. I felt it was very comfortable.... But on the newer version, I played with the esthetics some, too. Slimming it down for easier carry on the hip.
