Hi All,
I had the distinct pleasure of spending part of the day today at the Oklahoma Custom Knife Show in Oklahoma City, Ok at the Holiday Inn on South Meridian.
At the show were such notables as:
--Brion Tomberlin
--Ray Kirk
--Mike Miller
--Lee and Linda Ferguson
--Rick Menefee
--Bill Duff
--Gary Crowder
--Sheathmaker Larry Parsons (Pg. 77 in the January issue of blade)
--Cliff and Rusty Polk
--A bunch of other great makers I can't remember
I really had a great time chatting with Mike, Ray and Brion at their booths. it was also a privilege to have the opportunity to hold the Oklahoma Centennial Bowie Knife, created by the finest Oklahoma Knifemakers. To say it was amazing is an understatement.
Of course, I couldn't walk away without buying something. Ray's little pocket medicine knives are HIGH on my list of great users. He has a damascus version with dark giraffe bone that I had him hold for me. I will post pics when I get it.
All in all, a great time. I meant to go back at 2:00 to watch Ray teach a sharpening seminar, but alas I fell asleep in my recliner and missed it. I do plan, however, to head back tomorrow to take another peak at the array of wonderful knives.
Thought it was worth posting about. Take care all,
Brett
