I love my home state, I really do but I am not at all in love with its weather.:grumpy: Day before yesterday it was 75* and beautiful as it has been for a while now, and for several days it's been warm enough so that I have had to run the AC in the car and house!:) We have even had a few nice excursions in the woods at our local nature center that was really nice.
The Big Stores have had their nursery plants out now for quite some time and people have been buying and planting like crazy!
And Heavens to Murgatroid we have already been under two Tornado Warnings that I'm aware of this Spring Season!!!!
Even my Barbie has succumbed to our beautiful Spring Weather and purchased some summer squash that we like although I cautioned her to not plant them until at least a week after Easter.
And it's a good thing too as Winter is now revisiting us for what I hope is a short time. :(
It Is Now Snowing Outside and the forecast is 32* for a low tonight, 25* tomorrow night, and 23* Saturday night, 33* Sunday night and back to 48* Monday night.
A typical Oklahoma Spring!!!!
Well at least we can't say that we don't have exciting weather here in Oklahoma. :grumpy: ;)
I don't think the peach trees have bloomed yet so maybe the weather won't ruin the peach crop again this year.:)

Yep. Its not boring weather wise here in Okie territory. I had the air conditioner on the day before yesterday, was sweating in the shop and had the barn doors open and the fans on high. Sunny and in the 80s three days ago and today its snowing in Bartlesville. Go figure.

Air conditioner already?

you're breaking my heart.

SUFFER

(If I could raise my arm with all these sweaters and jackets on, I'd make gesture!)

il just keep my mouth shut about Florida:cool:
even Northern Florida
(or Southern Georgia) as them nice folk in Miami like to tease

21 degrees in S. Ohio...had quite a bit of snow yesterday, going to be cold all weekend and into next week.

Yup...made it to 80 last week.

For sure put on 100 miles on the Harley and mowed the lawn on Monday,
Wednesday shoveld snow and dug out the winter coat.

Great living in Cleveland.

Take Care

Hey, even we're getting a freeze this weekend. Wierd. But its supposed to reak havoc on moesquito pops. So... bueno.

I've moved 850 miles away from OK and still having almost exact same weather here yvsa. it's not just OK. :)

I'm sure its this region. I cut the grass for the second time this season the day before yesterday sweating the whole while and today I have a big winter coat on and could see my breath.

I spent the afternoon in my hammock, 'cause the weatherman says I'm going to need a fire in the woodstove come Easter morn:eek: .

You could'a done the same here if you had plenty of blankets and a waterproof tarp to go over them. It snowed off and on all morning but never stuck. It's supposed to get down to 23* tonight and 25* tomorrow night. People that didn't cover their plants last night may have lost them in the areas it got below 32*. Like anywhere the differences between ridge and hollow can be several degrees from one another.

when you guys want some real strange weather come by syracuse and upstate ny-a few miles north of me there is a foot and a half or more of new snow since friday-with luck this wont hurt my garlic

The last five mornings here have been in the low teens. Most of the days haven't made it up to freezing. That on top of 4 inches of rain last week and a forecast of rain/snow for next week. Fields are frozen again - It will be a late and challenging planting season:confused: .
A lot of guys down south in Kansas are concerned about what this weather may have done to the wheat crop. Are we sure this is April???

Spring is an ugly season just about anywhere at this time of year. It teases us with a couple decent days, then its back to cold windy damp condions. Then the biting bugs come out in droves.

We had temps near 20 (almost 70F), then came 6 inches of snow and the last couple of nights have been -20 and the wood furnace has been hungry.

Still 5 more months before hunting season.

same weather 150 miles north. I left at 4:30am to head to Wichita Friday morning (I am 120 mi. north) and drove through falling snow the whole way. Hard freeze Friday night (down to 17) that managed to kill everything that was brave enough to bud out.

We had a series of sunny days in the 60's. Then it hit a sunny 80 last Tuesday. The magnolias and cherry trees were in bloom. The buds were opening on the lilacs. All the daffs were up. I was cutting the grass and complaining about the heat.

The next day it started to snow and snowed every day since. 2-4" were predicted. We now have 16" on the ground here. Lows of 24-25 F each night.

:o :o :o :o

Sounds like Oklahoma isn't the only place having strange spring weather. We almost always get at least one last freeze before Easter but this weather is ridiculous although not unheard of.
I remember one time when we lived in Montana at Bozeman Hot Springs that it came a good snow on May 17th, my old man's birthday. We didn't stay for the next winter.:D

Ya'all are welcome to come and visit:D Been in the 90's for a week or 2 and it's supposed to be just up in the 70's for a couple days now. Good hiking weather:D

This past weekend, Columbia, SC achieved an all-time record low temperature for the month of April (26 degrees). There was widespread damage to many crops throughout the state and the possibility that SC may be declared a disaster area. Not good news for a state whose economic health is strongly tied to agriculture.
