Well not that old, but still has signs of maturity that I thought you guys might enjoy on a friday evening.

This is a Moore Maker 5200 jigged bone trapper with 1095 steel. It's got some pitting, and the snap on the spey blade is like an old turtle, but it gets real sharp and feels good in hand and pocket, and always smells like 3 in One Oil, which I enjoy (go figure).

Just an ol' yeller pocket knife. About 3.5" closed. I like it. :)

I had never seen a Moore before, (hey that rhymes:)) Before buying one from Gramps here on BF. I like yours and hope you like mine. They are sharp, and a fine fit and finish.

That dawg'll hunt fer sure.

(I'm not really as folksy as that expression makes me sound but it seemed appropriate for Ford's ol' yeller knife :D)

uggghhh...

I just posted in the "signature patern" thread that the Stockman was my favorite. Then you go and remind me of the mini-trappers. Definately my second favorite.

I have a 1986 Parker Edwards thats the same size as that one. A hair under 3.5" closed.
Great size. Nice MM ya got there.

Ford,show yur other yeller,too
LMAO...Edited in,the whittler Ford,the whittler...

Vince, good thing you edited in there bud. ;) Here's my other old yeller...my dog Duke.

fewpop, thats a nice knife. Just how old is it? Has just enough charater to be interesting. I wonder if the bone was dyed that light yellow, or has the bone yellowed a bit with age? If its dye, then they did a very nice job of getting a bit of a "seasoned" look to it.

Thanks for the comments fellas. :)

jackknife, this one is only about 7 years old.

Thanks for reminding me I need to add an MM. That ol' yeller looks real "at home".

Mike

Looks like an old friend for sure. I have a MM muskrat in horn coming from Santa.I can't wait, although yours is a queen MM, right? I think the new ones are Camillus. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

The horn and delrin models WERE made by Camillus. They won't be any more, since Camillus no longer exists..............:( Somebody on here the other day was saying that the Mooremakers not made by Queen were going to be contracted to Bear.

The ones on the website as we speak are Camillus are'nt they?Until they're gone.

I believe they still are, as of yet. We're going to really miss Camillus, it was astounding to see how many different knives they built under contract for other companies.

Those scales look a lot older than seven, good knife there, care to mention the cost?

willgoy,
I'm not the original owner of this knife. I'm assuming the date of manufacture is 2000 as stamped on the spey blade. Picked it up on the "bay" for about $30.
Thanks again for the comments folks. :)

Ford,

I was a little hesitant to read your thread after seeing the title because I figured I'd cry at the end just like when I saw the movie.

That knife has a lot of character and is owned by a real character.
