I've been looking at the Wayfarer from Olamic Cutlery for a little over a year. The design really speaks to me! The problem was, I could never find just the right combination of steel, grind, blade finish, and handle materials. I saw a few that sang to me, but I was just never able to grab one before they were gone. :(

A month ago, in one of my posts here at BF, I mentioned offhand I was still looking for the perfect Wayfarer. A little while later Eugene from Olamic Cutlery contacted me and asked if he could help. Eugene asked what materials exactly I was looking for, and after a short discussion, an order was placed!

The results are this sexy beast right here:
Steel - CPM-B75P, Standard Grind, Mirror Finish.
Snakewood Scales, Brushed titanium back spacer & Stainless clip.

This is one of a very few you'll see that have wood scales (since Eugene told me this is only the third one he's made). I've had her for a few weeks now, and I just couldn't be happier with my Wayfarer.

The flipping action is smooth as silk right outta the pouch (no break in needed ) and she's razor sharp. The fit and finish are simply superb. The blade is dead-center and the lockup is perfect. I love the attention to detail, like the milled finish on the inside of the frame, and making every surface smooth EXCEPT the part that cuts!!! ;) ----

If a Wayfarer is on your list and you're sitting on the fence, do yourself a favor and grab one! They rock! If you're searching for a Wayfarer and just can't find what you want, contact Eugene at Olamic, he's great to deal with!!!!!

I see another Wayfarer with a compound grind and another interesting scale material in my future... :D

Great pick up, that's the first wooden wayfarer I've saw! I talked to Eugene in a recent thread and he told us that Olamic will be releasing new models sometime later this year. I can't wait...

Real Nice. Just wished the shape of the clip (where the 3 screws are) followed the knife lines.

I just about creamed my jeans when I saw this on Olamic's Facebook page the other day....

You can always contact Eugene and ask what he can do for a clip that's more to your liking. He was great to work with as I decided what I wanted on my knife!
