Hi RB,

Buck will charge you $6 to $8 to sharpen your blade. The polish job is part of the service. Send a detailed note with your knife...letting them know what you want done and what you don't want done. Their customer service group is second to none!!!!!

Please post some photo's....before and after.

Not to hi-jack your thread RB. But, I have an older Buck 110 That needs to go back for some tender loving care. I got an older 110X from 1990, Picked Red Bone. The blade is about 1/2" short and rounded; where someone did a poor re-profile job on it. The one cool thing is I can flick out the blade with a snap of my wrist....this is not good to have a blade that loose...LOL. The lock will not fail...but, there is still blade movement even when locked open:(. I'll be sending this one back for a blade replacement & referbishment at my expence. I'm just waiting for Joe to reply to my email.

It's going to need more than that...

Almost looks like someone tried to pry it apart...the brass pins are actually sunken...

A new blade means a new backbone, so Buck should be able to replace the blade/backbone/pins and buff it back up again... ;)

I'd be surprised if they only charge you $6 to $8...Kind of hard to say the blade was broken if it's been ground down and reshaped...but that's just me; maybe Joe has a heart of gold... :D

(If anyone at Buck tells him about it...Joe seems to be getting left in the dark on the stuff going on at Buck...) :p

naw if he sends it
attention: Joe Houser, BKI....
he will get it ...
and between all of us here i think we keep him filled in ...;)

In , the paperwork w/ my AG110 it states Buck charges $6.95 for sharpening. So, jb4570 and Chickentrax are in the ballpark. They do a good job. Send it in you'll be happy when its returned. DM

Is that $6.95 for sharpening the Ag?? The paper work on my Ag 110 and Ag Vanguard says sharpening on the AG free.

I tell you what. having just been to Post Falls, good luck finding Joe. he is a busy man and the plant is huge. The gals in the front will take good care of you. I left two knives for treatment and paid in the ball park that you talk about. It is worth every dollar. For my money, the Buck 110 is the best value on the planet - new or olde. You won't be sorry.

Kyhunt, I should have stated, that was for others, not the AG. On,those speciality knives the sharpening is free. That goes for Cabela's Pro Line series as well. DM

I just had them put a edge on a Buckmaster 185 LT I have and man the best $$ I spent. Looks new. Going in my collection safe.
