Old 110 demands a high price!

I've seen mint versions of that early 110 go in the $200 range, but this buyer must have more money than sense. Maybe I should tell him about my mint inverted Buck 110...lol

My sentiments exactly! I've got a few extras I could probably part with at a couple of hundred bucks a piece. :D

An old 60's vintage 110 with only the word Buck shown on the blade just sold on ebay for over $300. The link below contains photos of the knife. It's in pretty sad condition, but it's obvious those old knives are really coveted. :)

well i for one missed that sale and as cheep a cheepscate as i am i would have gone to 100$ !!!
this buck, (i hope if i make any mastake the real pro's jump in to correct me ) was likely made in 1964 maby 65 during in the first full year of buck folding hunter production and there was a lot of changes made at first. if it has a non metal spacer between the liners then it was with the first 2 years of production for sure. and there was not many of them made compaired to today!!!! any with the horzontal buck stamp are rair and ALL i have seen go for more then 100$ regardless of condition! as to the falw in the blade - early folding hunters had flaws as the quality was not what it was for the other fixed blade knives.
it is not suprisiing to see J-six guns, a fisherman, biding on these, i have lost biding agenst him before on several 110's.

Dave,
I watched the auction with interest when it first came up for two reasons. First, it was being offered by someone here in my home town and second, I thought I might have liked to have had a chance at it if the price remained reasonable. I opted out when the price took a significant jump upwards half way through the bidding. I would love to have the chance at owning a very early 110 in reasonable condition if the cost was at an acceptable level. This one was not in a condition that excited me and the price was way out of line in my opinion. :barf:

mike, i agree with you as to conditon -vs- price... i would have gone to the 100 max because of condition as i said but if one is trying to have a compleat collection with all holes filled and has the $ so be it, it will do tell better comes along.
i have a motto - pay only what you value it at - not what others vlaue it cause if you do you will be disapointed if the market fails because buying something for its collector value is investing not collecting...

much as i want a real early 110's to fill holes i can not bring myself to pay what he did for it. i had a chance to get one cheep before but felt gulity and told the guy selling what he had and he relisted it and it went high also... i cant take advantage of some kid as he turned out to be. oh well one day ...
