I haven't ever seen much here concerning the old 110 sheaths.

I know some of the snaps have different BUCK stampings on them, but other than that, it is hard for me to tell much differences, other than the obvious angles of some of the bottoms.

I just got a couple of 110's from the 67-69 time frame and was wondering about correctness of sheaths for them.

Any thoughts on the different stampings and sheaths?

Thanks Gentlemen!

LFH, I have a few older 110 sheaths...I noticed that the belt loop on some is different. One instead of being straight is curved. Another is narrower. Then the placement of the loop on several is different. Can't say what the age is for the different loops...maybe someone else will be along. Preston

Thanks Preston, I will look at my old ones closer. I am kicking myself bad for not paying enough attention and keeping the sheaths together with the knives as I received them.

It is hard to go by condition. Some newer ones are beat up worse than old ones.

Some have the "110" on the back/top; some on the back/bottom...brass snap; silver snap...high loop; low loop...narrow loop; wide loop..."Buck Knifes" with a triangle [mountain?];just "Buck"...coarse stitching; fine stitching..."Buck" on snap; "Buck Buck Buck" [in a circle] on snap...large [5/16"] "BUCK" letters on flap; small [1/4"] BUCK letters on flap...

And this is just from four I have laying here...(they're all leather, BTW)...

Now, the Nylon sheaths... ;) :D

Can you put a date to the specific ones?

The only one I can positatively date is the one my original two dot is in.

Only the one that came with the Idaho 110... :D

The rest are all eBay refugees...no telling how old they are...

But there sure is an assortment... :)

Maybe some BCCI member with broadband could pull down the catalog(s) and see if they show the sheaths... :)

I have broused BCCI some. A lot of info there to go through... Haven't found much on sheaths. ..yet

Thanks,

I believe that the first 110 sheaths Ca. 1963-66 had Buck marked snaps, were embossed Buck on the flap and had nothing stamped on the backside. This may have been followed by similar marked fronts and a 110 stamped on the rear down low ( 1967-1968) and later stamped 110 on the belt loop. This commentary is based on several Buck 110s in collection which may or may NOT be correct. Other observations/corrections welcome. I have early 1961-1963 fixed blade sheaths that have totally unmarked snaps. Any observations of the unmarked snaps on early 110s ?
PS. The early snaps both marked and unmarked __All__ are marked on the inside RAU PROV. R.I.
