Old 110

Have them sharpen it to the Edge 2000 specifications.
It will be easier to maintain the edge, and cut/slice much better.
Edge on that knife when new was convex, at 50 to 60 degrees inclusive. The Edge 2000, isn't convex, and is 30 degrees inclusive. (+/- 2 degrees manufacturing tolerances)

Nice 2 dot. :)

Edit:
I don't know if you are aware, but that one has a 440C blade. :)

It has the divot top sheath which is correct for that model. The earliest it could be is late 1978 because it has the large pins. It could be glare or someone ground on the stamp side of it's blade.
Still, a nice old 110. DM

I got this one with a group of knives recently. For about $30. I’m gonna send it in to the spa treatment with instructions not to round it off. Anything else I should mention to them?

Tell them to clean, polish and there’s no need to remove the scratches. I don’t think buck does Edge 2000 anymore; I didn’t see it on the site or in their ads for awhile. I’d want it sharpened not reground to some non-original geometry.

There is a form to download and print or just write it all down on a paper mail it to them with a check and wait. $10 for new blades which includes the spa treatment, $6.95 for just the spa. You pay the shipping there they pay for it back. That’s why I’ve sent them in groups to save us both on shipping.

Be specific about what you want done and what you don’t want. Especially if it’s sentimental.

You just answered my question on the "5 Buck" thread.
$10 is a great price for spa and a new blade.
Thanks!
