old 112 vs. new 112

Hello all the Buck guys on this Sunday afternoon. I really like the 112 knife for its size, and I carry mine a good bit in the sheath. Lately I have not using the sheath to carry my knife. All the 112 I have are the square bolsters (old style). I like EDCing my 112, but find it really bulky in the pocket. So to solve that I grab my 560, but it is too long for what I need. Does the rounded bolster 112 fit any better in the pocket? I know this one is crazy but I have to ask, are there any 112 with a frame of the 560?

Thanks,
John

You may want to try a Duke 500. It has a much narrower profile than the 112 which makes it more suitable for pocket carry. Here's a picture of one.

Not from Buck...but they *are* out there... :D

Maybe Leroy or Scott could whip one up for you...

Actually, do you really want Titanium??? Wouldn't SS be just as good???

Thanks guys for the fast replies. I would like to get a Duke, but I like the blade on the 112 better for EDC. As far as SS or titanium goes, I guess either one would be fine since it will be smaller than the 560, and might not weigh as much as the full size in SS.

Thanks,
John

If you really want ligth weight, aluminum would be the way to go...or even Nylon...

Hmmmm...a black Nylon 112, with the profile of the old 426...add a pocket clip, and you've got the Buck 442!!! :D:thumbup:

Yeah this bug won't leave me a lone ;). This wife is a sleep so I wanted to shop for a new Buck knife. I bought the 422 in hopes it would be lighter and easier to carry in my pocket. I had one many years ago, but lost it. I have forgotten how it feels. I hope it fills my need because I am getting broke wanting all these knives.

Mike, shame on you now I have been searching for a nice bone handle 500 like yours. My wife is going to flip when she gets the mail this week.

I have two of the 442's [not 422] plus several Buck knives with the 442 blade. The Buck 442 is nice and light; but if you really want a slim 442, lose the clip... ;) The plastic handle makes it nice and light. :)
