Scored an older 112. Judging by date codes and whatever else I can find, it looks like it was manufactured after '72 but before '74.

It's 2-pin, no dot, tip up stamp, pre nail-nick. Grip is noticeably thinner and less contoured than my '81-86.

Should I send it in for blade replacement? It's not a user, I might just keep it as is, as part of the collection.

You think it's feasible for Buck to replace the blade with one for the upcoming 112 Tribute model? Or is that a pipe dream?

I'm not generally in favor of new blades in old frames unless there is some other compelling reason. They just become an odd duck. By the time you paid for shippping to Buck, plus cost of the spa and blade you are well along the way to something better..... IMO

Pipe dream, Buck will replace blades but will use the current regular production blades.
What I would do is send it in for a SPA, maintain the original 440C blade it is shorter but not bad. Have them put the 'Edge 2000' when sharpening it and you'll be GTG.

Grip noticeable thinner and less contoured? That's a bit of a mystery. All early 112's were flat frames with no contour (radiused?) at all. Quite a few Buck folders were 'thinned' and in fact there is a 110 model that WAS quite thin from the factory. It was a popular modification even just laid on a belt sander. The pin heads would be ground off but the glue usually held.
