I've been looking through old knife books, newspapers and magazines, and am always amazed at the dogs head slipjoints. Some really great looking knives. I'd like to check out the new ones. I am not asking for a pics only thread, but I'd like to see pics of your Ka-Bar dogs head slipjoints, both old and new.

El Biscuitero has a Dog's head Stockman, in reclaimed American Chestnut. IMO, the fit and the finish are just a little short of flawless. Beautiful, and well made.

I've checked out a few of the lineup, and since I know where they come from, I would say the current pricing is pretty damn good.

I don't have pics of any of them, but I know Guyon (El Biscuitero) has some, incuding biscuits and gravy. :D

Blade steel is 440A on those by the way.

Moose, typo alert. The Ka-Bar catalog says 440C SS, which is a better steel. A really good stainless steel IMO. Think old Buck knives good.

I'm currently carrying the Model #3313, the stockman in reclaimed American chestnut.
Carrying it today in fact. Great knife. Fit/finish and snap are excellent.
I'm going to carry it a while longer, get some pics in use, and then do a review thread here.
Here are a few I took when I first got it.

Thanks El Biscuitero, I've had 440A on the brain lately, I been holding a few off the forums Randall discussion with mi amigos here locally.

I was under the impression the new dogs head slippies were being produced by Canal Street. I'm not sure if I heard it somewhere or if it's just from looking at the patterns, but the dogs head lockback appears to be the same knife as the Canal Street "Pinch". Anyone know if this is the case? If so I'd be more likely to pick one up...

Until Moose gives the word, I'm just going to say that your slipjoint-fu is amazingly perceptive. ;)

And the word is GO.

Yes, they are made by Canal Street. Wally and his guys are proud to be working with Kabar on these, and working to bring some badass American Made traditional folders to the lineup. I love these knives. I do wanna say, I don't carry slipjoints, or traditional knives, in my day to day, but these are simply beautiful, well made, and AMERICAN MADE!!!!

Right now, the two choices for the material is Reclaimed American Chestnut, and Rams Horn, and so far, all the ones I've seen, I haven't seen a flaw yet.

I do plan on picking up some of these, when money allows.

Funny, I saw this thread right after I posted a picture of the stockman in another thread. Love that stockman.
