I have finnaly got around to buying one of the new Battle Mistresses.
I bought mine from Andre Dumouchel at the gun show this weekend. (Great guy and has a lot of Busses in stock)

Anyway, when I got home and started to compare them I realized the are two totally different knives.
For starters the blade length, width, and thickness are all a little less on the new Battle Mistresses.
The micarta handles have a lower profile, which is partly due to the fact that the tang is slightly thinner.
Of course the handle is curved and the blade is a drop point.
The blade coating is the new crinkle finish, which I must add I love.
And to finish it off you get the new kydex lined cordura sheath with front pocket.

So in essence you have a completely changed, improved knife with the same name. (much like a new car model)
How do I like the new Battle Mistress compared to the straight handled one?
Well so far I Like everything that has been changed on it except for maybe the length and width, which isn't very much.
I am very happy with my purchase and can't wait to take it on a wilderness trip tomorrow.
I will report my findings later this week when I return.

I am also looking foward to the arrival of my two ZT Battle Mistresses. So I can compare them all.

Later, Jeff

Cool comparison. I've been looking at the pics of both models side by side, and have notices many differences also, but haven't had a chance to compare side by side. I'm going to pickup a BM-E one day for a heavy user, but have to admit I'm in love with the early BM style so far.
