First time posting here in M,T&E...

J. Dabling is a member here on BladeForums, I met him here when I was looking for some Kydex work. Turns out he lives in the same area so long story short, he makes my kydex and does a great job. Recently he spent quite a bit of time teaching my 15 Yr. Old son how to do Kydex.

Knowing I dabble in Knifemaking he handed me an old (Early Cold Steel) Scottish Dirk that was missing a handle and a thin piece of Linen Micarta. He asked me to finish the job If I could.

I think it turned out pretty nice. I added a small 1084 spacer to protect the Micarta in the Bolster area.

I have had this blade for a long time, sometime in the late nineties. I picked up off of the Cold Steel 2nds area of their website.

It is made of their original Carbon-V steel, close to 1095 I think. I took the handle off years ago and just put it in a box, cause the old handle was just way too short.

The new one is about 5" long roughly the same length of the blade.

Ryan make great blades and even better handles;).

Thanks again, Ryan!
