Hello everybody.

I am thinking about selling my older small classic BG 42 from 2000. It has been a user and shows wear on clip and handle. it opens smooth but obviously has no play whatsoever. The blade has been sharpened a lot by the previous user and only once by me.
I have box and papers.

What do you think it's a fair price to ask?

thanks.

People like BG42 now and look for sebs in that steel. If you're not in a hurry I'd start at $300, go lower as needed.

You could send it in to CRK for a checkup to be sure first, that might help sell it.

Thank you Dave. i'll post soon in the trade forum. I'll keep it low to sell it quick. unfortunately i have unexpected vet bills to pay.

I adopted a 8 weeks old kitty that somebody found on the street and brought to the veterinarian clinic where my wifes work. He has a broken leg and needs surgery. The vet at the clinic will pay most of the bills if we adopt him... i couldn't say no.... he's hurting a lot but still purrs as soon as he sees my wife...

thanks for the opinion.

Pollo,

Adopting that cat is a kind act. Good luck on that. Even better if you have multiple "wifes" working at the same place taking care of it... haha. I agree, there's nothing like a hurt animal that needs your help... just can't say no. When I was a little boy, I once cried for several hours until my dad agreed to pay over a thousand dollars for my dog to have surgery. (now he loves that old dog more than I do) It's definitely worthwhile.

My original reason for posting here: Not to take the wind out of your sail...I just bought a Small Classic Sebbie in BG-42 for $235!!! I think and hope that I got an AMAZING deal on it. You could probably get $270+ for it (at least that's what I would've been willing to pay for mine) Good luck.

Hi Fleetparadox,

thanks for the words! i'm glad i can help this little kitty. Surgery will be tomorrow and the day after we will bring it home.
He will have to stay closed in a carrier for a while till the bone will heal a little. he'll never walk perfectly...

Me and my multiple wifes (ahahah!) are going to take turn in taking care of the kitty for the fist days to make sure he does not hurt himself and to help with eating and drinking...

About the sebbie, i'll maybe workout a deal for both shadow3 and sebbie as a package... i took pictures today, tomorrow i'll post. thanks again

Better be careful. My wife's bleeding heart has so far tallied 5 cats. We are on our way to a zoo here.

Pollo,

$240?!? Come on... what a travesty. haha. Congrats to Dave H. for such a steal!

Dave himself said "list it at $300." Pollo, you're far too generous. I fear that my $235 steal may have influenced you to "give this one away."

Either way, good luck to your sale and kitty.

Oh wow! Just a bit too late. I would have raced you to that one had I seen it in time Dave. :D Nice snag though. Should be a great little user.

the price was pretty good, i know..... i had to sell it really quick..... i also took into consideration how much i paid for it.... it's a relief to have sold one of the knives already... hope the other one will go as well.

Surgery went ok. The kitty has a steel bar in the leg that will have to be removed after six weeks... tomorrow morning i'll bring him home. Fudge this thing is going to cost.... the alternative would have been to amputate the leg... i am no rich guy but i think it was worth it. plus the clinic is really going to pay a big slice...

Thank you guys!

I know this is out of topic, but here's Silver the new kitty, enjoying his first meal after surgery in his new home... he's pretty much stoned on morphine and purr by himself.... pretty damn cute... note the steel pin sticking out of his leg... he'll live in the carrier for at least six weeks.

thanks.
