Hello. I looked in the thread about previous versions and found my knife. It is a BK2 sterile version. The plain grey blade with no markings. I think it was made by Blackjack. Can someone tell me more about the steel it has? Thanks!

I saw that in the data base thread. It doesn't say what my knife specifically is. The part that says "(depends on literature/generation?)" What does that mean? How do I know if the grey one I have is 0170-6 or 1095 or possibly something else? Maybe no one knows? Since there are multiple steels and multiple generations is there some overlap? Thanks!

I'm not the steel guy, but it seems that 0170-6, and 1095 are one in the same, just named differently by different companies. I could be totally wrong on that one though. Perhaps someone will come along and correct me. Sorry I couldn't be a better help.

My Camillus BK1 Brute is made of 0170-6. I found that it rusts very easy.

Thanks! That's good info. Looks like it may be pretty similar to what is used in the new ones. Interesting that Camillus changed the formula a little bit. At least that is how I read this. I wonder what else is different about the Blackjack version. I wish I would have gotten a 7 as well.
