Hi guys. Was recently given my grandfather's old Boker Congress. He died in 1976 and my dad ended up with it where it sat in his drawer until gave it to me. No idea how old it is, but it looks like it saw at least a few years of use on the farm before he died.

Well, fast forward to earlier this week and I gave it fair cleaning and sharpened it back up.

Other than its age, it's in pretty good shape but "The Tree Brand" medallion insert is missing from the handle. My question is this, is there a good source to find old knife parts such as this?

I'd like to find that medallion, glue it place and give the knife back to dad.

Thanks guys for any suggestions.

Boker shields are glued on. i've had a few come loose. luckily i knew it at the time.
i've given the dilemma of losing a shield some thought.
1. find a junker knife, cop the shield.
2. forget it.
3. find or make a small round object to replace the missing shield.
4. epoxy in some interesting stuff or small doodad in the shield hole.
5. go on the forum and ask for help!
i'll look around in my junk box to see if there might be a shield hiding in there.

Kinda looks like mine...but I thought mine was a 90's knife.

Excellent. If they made a similar insert version in the 90s I'll keep an eye for one I can part out.

Great-looking knife, hope you can find a shield to make it even better

Maybe try contacting Boker? Or check out the Boker USA subforum here. Most of the posts there seem to be about their modern offerings, but maybe someone would know where some old shields can be found.

Thanks guys. I'll try to sub forum on here first and see if I can have any luck.

It really is a great old knife. I was 7 when when he died so I didn't really know him but I've now got his old LeFever 12ga from the 1920's and now his old Boker. Pretty cool.

Got a hold of Boker and they are sending a new badge out tomorrow.

Hats off to Boker for the support of a 35+ year old knife.
