Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I've been on here, but I inherited two knives from a family member who recently passed away. I don't know much about them, so I was hoping to get some info from the experts here. The first one is a Bowie style knife, it has an 8 1/4" blade. About .25" thick at the spine. The only markings are Will & Fink S.F. Cal.

That Will & Fink, if it is genuine, is a very valuable and desirable knife. Don't do anything to it!

Oh I wouldn't, I'm not sure if its original or not, but I'd never change a thing on it. I know it belonged to my family member for decades, but I don't know if it's authentic. It's really cool either way though.

You might try that Will & Finck on Levine's subforum. Schlieper too, for that matter. Is the Schlieper held together by a nut in the pommel?

Your Will and Finck has a "C" in it; that opens the possibility of being authentic, rare and very expensive. Most of the counterfeits do not have the "C" in the stamping.

The OP is located in California. If the relative who made the bequest was also from there, it isn't far fetched at all that the knife is genuine if his family calls that state home.
