Old Boy Scout Folding Knife, got some questions.

Hello all, I'm new to this forum as you can see, and I recently received this knife from my grandfather, who found this knife fishing. I have no idea how old this knife it. I would like to clean the entire knife of all the rust and grime that has built up on the blade and other tools. I was looking around on how to clean all the rust off the blade etc. This knife would be awesome if I could actually open the other tools without a pair of pliers.

In a very quick question, How can I clean the knife to function again?
