Ran across my Mom's keepsake of Dad, I just had to clean it up. I suppose it's a common buck knife but I wanted to show it off.

Scott, welcome. You did a good job of cleaning on it. What's the stamping? No, nail nick, it looks to be a 2 dot. The blades in good shape. DM

You should see the green and black crud on the rag I cleaned it with. Reading the stickies, Buck was constantly making changes to the 110-112.

Nice job. That's a classic. I wore mine out, 30+ years ago, by sharpening that tough old 440C on carborundum hones, which were all I had at the time. I find my favorite EDCs these days are all about the same size as the 112.

Welcome Scott. That is a wonderful keepsake in fantastic condition. Here's a little more information:

Category IV, Stamped BUCK, *112**, U.S.A. 1980 to 1981 ?

Version 1. Left hand stamp, stainless spring holder, Macassar Ebony inlays, three 1/8” brass inlay rivets and stainless rocker rivet.

I believe the blade material was still 440C at this time. Hopefully, someone will be able to confirm.

*112** on the tang? I'm surprised how well it turned out.

They sure clean up nice, don't they? I have a two dot 112, and it was dirty too. After washing it and polishing it, it glistens. Buck knives sure are beautiful when they're clean.

I put it in a ziplock with a silicon pouch, put in the sheath and gave it back to my mom. It should keep a while that way. I already miss it.

I've been reading a bit on here, it looks like a nice place to hang around.

Great job getting the knife back in good shape. Buck builds them to last. Cleaned up well.

Welcome to the forum as well......

Very nice Scott - I'm sure your Mom really appreciates what you did for your Dad's old knife. OH
