Old Buck knife info

OK if you sell it one of al bucks ancesters wants it... joe is vp customer relations at buck and he will offer you a Fair Price for it, as he is trying to collect for his kids and grand kids = great grand kids of Al Buck...
the knife is made most likely by al buck in the late 50's...
his brother frank also did some knife makeing and it can be hard to tell the diffrence...
i say that as if it is olderthen 50's puts it in a diffrent catagory but it looks late 50's to me...
it is made from a file and plastic Al buck bought or found
the sheath was scrap belt leather normaly...
many were made for service men and hunters in cal and the west and Al guarnteed then so most were then were sold only there as many brought them back if they broke for aly reason!
so we dont see then here much out east only after mail order started in 1960's

the green was common as was red with acents of white and black
blue, yellow and brown were less offten seen.
email me and i will give you Joe's email for more information... he is on vacatin at this time...

I'm no expert:rolleyes:...BUT it would seem that you have a gem there! An older hunter from back before Buck incorporated, would be my guess...without really knowing I would say the fifties.

I have seen several similar to this, there are many variations.

Joe Houser, who mods this forum, works for Buck & knows alot about these is on a hunting trip, should be back next week. I'll bet there will be someone else along with solid info. Just wait.

Nice knife. I see that 334Dave is posting so I'll go. Preston

It could possibly be a Group 5 knife. The "Buck" looks like it was made with 1 strike and the dots on each side look added and it is on the right side of the blade. I'm guessing "108" is stamped on the opposite side of the tang. Sheath looks era appropriate for a Group 5. Close up pictures of both tang stamps and the pommel sent to Joe will definitely get you correct information, and maybe a buyer.
