WOW!! If knives could talk....

I'm interested to hear more about that. Could be made by Al by the looks of it.

Fantastic!

Looks like it could be the original prototype of the Fisherman or at least somebody's mind was moving in that direction.

Congrats on having a very special knife.

Thanks BG... I will find out more about it from Leroy... In a week or two... Maybe some one on the forum can tell us more about it.... ITE

I wonder if that is an old H.H. Buck knife?! I also wonder about the filed back of the blade, if that was done on inception or later on by someone else.

Very interesting!

Joe H. said, that the very first knife handles made in San Diego were made of either masonite or clear lucite, or a combination of both materials. He didn't tell me the model number, yet... ITE

Joe H. said, it was made in San Diego and it looks like the real deal.... That's the way they were made... Leroy said the same thing...

I believe it is a Group three made by H.H. Buck, circa 1947. I believe the handles look to be lucite. Very nice knife.

Thanks Hkingdom, for the info... I'm sure after Leroy looks it over and does his thing to it... I'll know more about it... It does have lucite handles and it's very lite... Do you have any pics of the sheath that goes with it??? Thanks again, ITE

It would have a sheath similar to one of these.

HK, Not that I could approach your standing and knowledge but I found this: I think your correct and I found the knife in some old sales brochures from the early 1950's . Its a 106 with H.H's picture on the front and back . He could have been making this model for that long at the Morena Blvd. address . Thanks for posting the photo, ITE . DM

ITE and hkingdom thank you for the pictures, and the information. This is the main reasson that I come to the forum is to learn. Thank you both. HL

ITE is thru open discusions that we learn what to look for, and pass on what we have learned. That way it might be passed on down the line to the next generation. HL
