Hello there, thanks for letting me join your forum. this is my first post. i have been collecting buck knives for some time, and came across this older set recently. the previous owner had passed and these were at an estate sale. they are old bucks as they dont have numbers/anvil and the name buck is fairly crudely stamped. also note the slightly different grips. what made it unique was the sheath. early bucks were sometimes offered in sets, and this may be one of those earlier sets. the sheath design and construction is virtually identical to some of my other early bucks, however i havent seen these two knives paired in a set before. the sheath is unmarked, as are some of my other early bucks. the blades are a little used and have been sharpened, but not terrible. can anyone verify this is in fact a factory sheath or if its just home made? the purchaser engraved his name on the sheath/knives, and was a former ww2 navy man. my guess is these are from the late 50's to late 60's. any input is much appreciated. thanks again!
