Old Buggy Spring & Wheel Rim Reborn

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This one was half of an old buggy spring , a piece of wrought iron rfom an old wagon wheel rim, and another piece of walnut from Crex. The rear piece of wrought was from arim that had a "blow out". I just filled the crack with JB weld...character ? It is threaded onto the tang and pinned over after final glueing. This steel had a nice grain pattern. and also one of the first quench line I've gotten. Etched in vinegar overnight. oal 13.5 blade 8.5 Thanks for lookin. jc

Thanks folks for the comps. I started on the other end of the spring last night. I'll let you know how it comes out.

I read about 1800's of the mountain men: Kit Carson, Jim Bridger, the days of the first Bowie knife. Your knife reminds me of those times, nice piece.

NICE....Good character...I think you just made something worth hundreds of dollars for about .08 cents worth of stuff....good profit margin....lol

A good profit margin, until you factor in the amount of time put into making it ;)

Very nice knife, well done!
