One of our favorite things to do is drive to older towns and check out the old buildings. These are some older pictures I had, so I thought I would repost them for the new guys.

Nice pics John. My town was called the lumber capital of the world during the latter half of the 1800's. All the rich lumber barrons built expensive Victorian homes during that era. Not quite as big as the mansion above, but similiar. There's a historic district they call millionaire's row.

Have you checked out the settlement in Lockport yet? They have the old Mokena jail and a few other old buildings there.

No, not yet. I did see the WW2 reenactment they did over the 4th of July weekend. It was very cool. I really enjoyed the mock battle I saw, complete with tanks and fighter planes buzzing the battlefield. I was also very impressed with the reenactors who really take great lengths to be as authentic as possible.

I was in Maryland recently and was pointed to a nice little tourist town on the Chesapeake Bay. Being alone and not big on Botiques and candy shops, I wandered through the neighborhood looking at the old houses.
