Just won an old Sword Brand on ebay last week.

Does anyone know the age?

It has the Sword Brand stamp on the mark side tang & the 4 line Camillus stamp on the pile side. Length 3-3/8 inches.
Due to the handle shrinkage, I would think the handles are celluloid. From the look of the bolsters I think they have begun off-gassing.

I would like to hear what you think & to hear your feedback.

Thanks,
Dale

Cool piece!
I believe the jigged celluloid handles are "staked" onto spikes lanced out of the liners.
I would guess 1950s, but will wait for CAMCO's input!

Thanks Phil. I appreciate the input.
I didn't know about the staking. I think I have seen it on some other brands, but never on such a good knife, only the real cheapies.

Tom should be by before long.

Dale,

The staked celluloid is not necessarily a sign of cheap!
As I do not see any handle rivets except the spring mid pin, I'll bet it is!

If you can see inside the knife you may see 2 small triangle shaped holes close to where the handle pins would normally be in the liners.

Great find for sure!!

The handles are fastened to the linings by "prongs". Old Camillus manufacturing records used this term.
