So I was given a Case knife from my dad after my grandpa died. It had been in his tackle box. Dad said that he remembers grandpa buying it from his brother in law in the 50s. Looking for any information on it, value, model, age?
Any help would be appreciated.
The sheath is original as well as the handle. No marks except the Case stamp.

A photo of the knife showing the tang stamp markings would help. Also, unless you have a Gold level paid membership or higher, you can't ask valuation questions. But we can tell you model and age most likely.

That particular style of tang stamp was in use from 1940 - 1965, so it'll be harder to date it other than the family history. The model family I believe is "FINN" but there were a number of sizes and varieties of blade shapes.

Not really my area of knowledge. Hopefully someone will come along with better info.

I have a knife very much like yours. I agree it looks like a Case FINN model. Is there another stamp on the other side of the blade? Mine says 3 FINN SSP. How long is the blade?

You will have better luck if you do tow important things:

1. Post some good pictures. If you don't know how read the tutorial at the top of the page.

2. Post this in the "Traditional" forum, which is given over to "old" knives, or on the Bernard Levine forum, which is all about identifying different knives.
