I just picked up a cleaver at an auction. I loved the look and weight but I don’t know anything about cleavers.
The makers stamp appears to say
WM Bealy & Sons
I’m not sure about the Bealy part, but it definitely starts Bea.
Any info anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Mark.
I’m finding a lot of info now. Amazing what a difference a couple letters makes.
I haven’t found how to put a date on it. Anybody got any info on that?

Looks like they added the “s” to change from son to sons in 1840 - if that info is reliable (found it on a couple antique cutlery sites on the internet so it MUST be true).
