Today against all odds I recovered my old Endura! How old?Well it has the molded clip and says Spyderco G-2 stainless on one side of the blade and Seki-city Japan on the other side.It is hollow ground!

It is in perfect condition...tomorrow it will put it on the Sharpmaker!

I am so happy I got it back!!!The new Endura I have is quite a bit improved to say the least!

This was the first spidey I ever bought...getting it back means a lot to me.Nothing like finding a pal you thought was gone forever.....And I triumphed over the clogged sewer line from hell too...a good day!!!!

Awesome! I have that one too, bought it back in 1993 and just loved how light it was!

Blade stoutness and size are an epic win!A lot of knife for a little weight.I am beside myself that I got it back!

I forgot to mention I had a hard time deciding between serrated or plain edge. I opted for SE and picked up a Sharpmaker not long after. I was always happy with that choice, SE proved to be excellent with the binder twine, feed sacks, and general use.

Sometimes a repeating firearm is called for.You are correct that this was not one of those days.So much drano had to be purged from the line before I could use the snake. You would have laughed...full on splashguard and gloves.

Here's a tip...thou shalt not put 10 lbs worth of potato skins as well as oranges down the disposal...for thy FAIL will be epic!

The se was crazy popular then.Mine is PE...and as a result I recall getting it for a song. The serrated were all sold out!The spidey hole and the serrations made for a very edgy look for the time. They were so different!

I really liked the hole...but preferred the PE.I really dug the hollow grind too!How times change...

I have one too. I bought mine between 1991-1993. It was in a blister-pack at my BX. It looked like an alien knife. It was very cool, but very weird looking. Plastic handle? It was so light compared to my USA, Schrade Uncle Henry lockback. It had a nasty, sharp, FULLY serrated blade. Wow, you could flick it open like a switchblade from West Side Story. Why the heck did it have a plastic clip like a Bic pen? I snapped mine off because I didn't think it made sense, at the time, lol. This was my last-ditch, self defense knife for many years. The handle is a little slick due to the smooth clip side. Since I ruined it's collectability decades ago, I decided to gimp the thumb ramp, and the handle with my new dremel. The traction is better now. My first Endura has been retired by a blue Endura, and an orange Endura.;)

That's wicked! Always exciting to find a lost knife. How long was it down there for? Any pictures?

So what is the story? Was it in the sewer line? Is it stinky?

I lost my Techno for 1 month. I know the feeling of getting an old friend back. Congrats.

Congratulations on your reunion. I lost a griptilian while walking down a dirt road (I thought). I figured it was gone forever because the dirt road was severely grown over and extremely long. It could've been any where. It rained a lot over the next couple days but low and behold I found it about a week later covered in grass and gravel. A little dirty but not too bad at all.

The endura was found in the closet in an old shoe...it is perfect since I keep my stuff oiled!Thank god it was not in the sewer!!!! It was missing for years...at least 4!

I mentioned the sewer because it was an epic win fixing it...hours draining drano from the pipe then using the snake to free the clog 24ft from the cleanout.Dangerous work that went off without a hitch.
so 2 giant wins...it was a good day in the end that started with the dread of fixing the sewer....

I just found a rescue model of the same generation back at my parents house over Christmas. Thinking about grinding it into a more aggressive wharncliffe profile, though I'll probably just touch up the serrations and carry it for fieldwork. It's fun to revisit these older models occasionally.

Picked up an Endura like yours in the early 90's. SE, black (ti-nitride?) coated G-2 blade from Seki Japan. I remember thinking back in the day that it was such a far departure from what I was used to. Still, quite the classic. Speaking of classics, you've inspired me to go searching for my late 70's Buck 112 Ranger. Bought it from the BX when I was stationed in Colorado many moons ago.

I bought one of these used in 2002. I was working retail during college and my manager had one that he sold me for $10. It was in like new condition except for the fact that he'd broken the pocket clip off.

Those integral clips got bent or broken pretty often. I was always super careful with mine back in the early 90's, but I had a couple of friends that snagged them and they broke.

Surviving for four years in a sewer would be very impressive and hard to believe. I am glad you found your knife. It is always nice reconnecting with an old friend. :)

I got one also was my first spyderco as well partial serrated blade Aus 8. Its in great shape I keep it in my glove box now for emergency. Now if I could only find my Caly JR I loved that knife.

I lost one just like it back in the mid '90's...actually, I suspect my ex wife traded it for drugs when I was on TDY.

Oh, good times.
