Old Folder - Anyone ever own one

[Fort Henry Custom Knives]

Hey Gang, Just got this and wondered if anyone here has ever owned one of these (or another with similar Label).

I posted with BRL on his KF Forum, got some response from another Member saying this was probably made by Carl Schlieper for Forest Cruse. This info was from the Goins book (which I now have on the way).

It is a Folder with Red Deer Stag handles, NS Bolsers and Etched Main Blade - Etching Reads "Jim Bowie - PREMIUM QUALITY - HAND MADE" . The Knife has Brass Liners, 3 Pins per side, Inlaid Shield.


OAL = 8 9/16"
BLADE = 3 5/8"
BLADE WIDTH = 1 1/16"

The Jim Bowies are made in the Eye Brand factory, for Clarence Risner. Most are hammer forged carbon steel, reasonably priced, great user knives. Try www.crisnercutlery.com

And the Eye Brand (Carl Schieper) are made in the Olbertz factory, same as Bulldog and a few others.

Hartkopf still makes this USA-export model, you can have it with stag (€ 69.00) or ebony scales (€ 65.00).
