I have known Steve for a long time.
Here is my favourite knife - one we did together, you could say.
I carry it every day and work it hard, but it takes everything I can dish out.
The knife is modelled on a Bob Dozier Simi skinner and we used one of Bob's magic D2 blades for the knife.
Steve made the Ti frame and moving parts - and I did the final shaping of the handle and attached the spalted Redwood handles.
The knife locks up as smooth as can be.
I love this knife.

Good to see you again my friend. Welcome back. I thought you traded it. I guess it made its way back. Maybe it will stay to roost this time.

I know I really like the one I did for myself after you gave me the idea for getting a Dozier folder for a reasonable price when what was out there was sky high and Bob wasn't making folders anymore.

Good to see you back. I had heard you were away or something. Traveling I guess and moving maybe.

Make sure I have your new address if thats true.

One does stupid things...trading it was one, but luckily I was able to get it back - unharmed.

I am in the process of moving into the outback and away from the silly people that seem to populate cities these days.
Old timber home, so there is a ton of fixing and renovating going on.
I'll keep you informed mate.

Ooh, I like that clip, did STR make it as well? STR, if so what's the process involved in doing that texturing? (or am I crazy and that's just the lighting)

You can see that folder start to finish in Dirk and I's old forum where we used to hang out a lot before I started this one on BF and he started his own here

And here is the link to the Dozier knife Dirk referrs to as his 'old friend'. I have always liked Bob Dozier personally, and I love the bare bones cutlery he produces that are no nonsense get after it workers for the working man. (just like what I shoot for :D)

For what its worth, I've turned down $400 for my lockback folder I built for myself using one of Bob's Sweetwater fixed blades. (seen at the bottom link) I wouldn't part with it for the world. I carry it often times in my left side pocket and carry whatever one I may be testing or working on in my right pocket. Its most always on me somewhere though. I've used this knife for a lot. My only regret is that its not a Wharny blade of some kind but you know its seeing a lot of use for stuff Wharny blades are not much good for anyways so it gets used a lot more for food prep and things like that.

By the way, I did make the clip but all the embellishments and texturing is all Dirk's doing. He is a master at that kind of artistic flare.
