I was cleaning up my workbench this morning and ran across this German made Soddie.I was gonna run a contest for the most messy bench, but then id have to keep the darn thing.I cleaned it a little(the knife, not the bench) and touched up the edge with the paper wheels and man o man i dont have a sharper knife. The scales are cocobolo i believe with a nice grain. The old boy snaps hard with a half stop.3 1/2" closed.I figured you guys would be the most likely to appreciate this guy.The tang just has the 2 crane stamp with Germany beside it.I guess it might be 60's or 70's vintage. Some of you may know for sure.Id like to limit participation to paying members. There is so much entertainment and information here it's worth twice the price i think.Contest goes like this.I have a number written down beside me here.It is between 1-1000.Guess the number and you win.Otherwise i close the contest on sunday night at 10:00 pm and the closest wins. Here is the old Soddie.

Sweet Knife! Thank you for your generosity and congrats on 1000! I'll throw in one of the few workbench pix I have (it's much messier, rather unusable, right now).

357 for me please!

Thanks for change. 777 for me. I don't have dedicated work bench really, since I live in flat... I work where I can.

As I don't have a Sodbuster yet and I like Old German[knive]s I'll throw my hat in the ring.
417 please.

I'd like to limit participation to paying members.

Hopefully some of the folks scrambling for a freebie will actually read the OP. ;)

Thanks for the nice gesture toward our forum and its members.

Cool looking vintage soddie. I'll go for 555.

Thanks for the opportunity.

I can't stand it. I gotta enter this, but I'm too ashamed to show my workbench(es) next to all those pristinely kept beauties above. My workshop has only a couple of goat trails left in it that are actually navigable.

I'm picking "396".

Thank you for your generosity Seals.

Let's go with 666, the number of the beast
hell and fire was spawned to be released.;)

549, please, and thank you. If I could get to my workbench I might get a photo up but that's not happening today...

Too funny. I traded back the only Sodbuster I had to my friend, so I'm in. My guess...

Very cool Soddie! I'll guess 612

A man without a workbench is neutered! Here's a pic of my youngest Daughter helping me strip the finish off of an old guitar out in the garage in the dead of winter. We've done a few and she likes to help.

I'm in for 497. Looks like a great user. Ok here are the pics. The top two are my Workbenches for handyman fix it stuff. The bottom is my fun table. I didn't want to waste my time taking a pic of my fly tying bench since it is probably the worst of them all.
