Old Hammer

My Granddaddy and his Daddy have blessed me with some good knives. Never met my Granddaddy who died in '61.
I found this old Hammer and I'm trying to find a listing of blade stamps. Anyone have a source?

What I did find said Hammer was in business from 1890~1931

Your knife is probably an Imperial and the dates you are referencing are for New York Knife Co.

Here is an Imperial with an Imperial stamp on the mark side and patent #s on the pile side of the tang.

I can only make out the top pat number right now. It looks like 2037943. The bottom number is partially obscured by the handle and rust. IT looks like 2179537, but I'm not certain.

There may be a database for the numbers online but I don't know where. Put that treasure in your pocket and carry it in your grandfathers honor

Your correct...they are metal with enamel paint I believe
