No the name is not a misprint. On the way home the other night stopped a tool store looking for rachet straps. While waiting to check out there was a display of slip joints in various patterns.

They looked well put together and had pretty good fit and finish. There was a small stockman in a green stag type material for about $16. There was also a trapper and a lockback none of which were over $20. The name on the boxes was "Old Henry"

Anyone ever hear of this brand?

It is one of the increasing number of Chinese built knives. Yes, I've heard of it, but haven't seen any to handle. That's nor surprising since I do pretty much all of my knife buying online. Did you buy one? If you did, let us know how it works out.

Have not bought one yet. Might have to buy one the next time I go by there. According to the clerk, lots of the local Amish buy them. Must be pretty good user blades judging by that comment.

I bought this single blade peanut with buffalo horn scales a few weeks ago. It's a very well built little knife.

I think that's the next permutation alright. :D That peanut is definitely aimed at "looking like" a 12OT peanut (I think that's the right model number, I'm new to peanuts anyway).

I am kinda new to all this but was hoping someone could help me figure out what I have. I had a loss of a family member & his things were boxed a long time . They were just going to throw away the box so I brought it home & inside I found this very old looking knife still in the box. It has the words Schrade Walden Cutlery & the title THE OLD TIMER written on the outside of the box & inside is a nice pocket knife . It has a little tiny silver tag on it that says Uncle Henry. It even has the paper work inside

Hi, and welcome to Bladeforums!
Off the top of my head, my guess is the knife and box didn't originally go together. Uncle Henry knives and Old Timer knives were two different brands made by the Imperial Schrade Corp until 2004. If the tang stamp reads USA, you know it was made in 2004 or earlier. Since 2004, Uncle Henry and Old Timer knives have been imported and sold by a different company.

Schrade had a long-standing tradition of mix-and-matching parts from SC, OT, and UH knives; there are a lot of factory-original Frankenknives out there. :)

To be able to say anything else about yours, I'd need to see a picture. Good closeup photos, in focus, showing the box, tang stamp, and shield.

If the mods move this to the Schrade subforum and the OP adds a photo or two, good info should be forthcoming.

"Old Henry Blades" was a trade mark aplyed for back in 2007 and abanded in 2009.
Hard to know where they were made. I see they sold for 50% discount prices, and sold for about $10 by some sellers.
They were not sold by Schrade, so that is about all we need to know.

Yep, a Chinese made knife, trying to riff on Taylor's trademarks briefly. Applies to the former thread posts, not the renewed thread topic. Still need to see his knife to help him.
