did alittle hunting scored a nice size 200# sow,got some young dogs,they worked hard got the job done ,got to use my new svord pig sticker it was nothing but awsome,,put some meat on the BBQ an had a few beers,,aloha

It looks like hunting hog with a knife is a lot of fun. Here we have the kind with tusks (boar), so it might be a little bit more dangerous but probably still doable. Perhaps a spear with a knife for the tip would work.

got some emails for some info ,so here it is the white an live colored dog is 1/2 american bull dog-1/2 blue nose pit an is 6 months,the two black dogs are brother an sister an are 1/2 bull terrier 1/2 hound an are 14 months, the brown dog is 1/2 am.pitt bull 1/2 boxer an is the old man he is 7 yrs,,the knife is a svord pigsticker from new zealand an has a 8 1/2"blade of L6 an is 3/16 thick,its light in the hand an hip,an is not bad chopper for a lite blade,,,any more info just ask no problem,,aloha

You always stick them. We catch them here alot of time. Time them take them home and fatten them up. Never seen a terrier mixed in a pack. Makes kind of since. We us a varied cur line. But all catch dogs have a little pit in them.

i kinda use what ever type of dog i get ,one of my best dogs was a dobberman mix i got at the pound he could track an grab,had a black mouth cur but buy the time we got him to the islands he didnt want to hunt..some times we bring the hogs out alive got 3 boars in my yard right know,,will eat them when they get bigger

Do you guys go ahead and cut the boars you keep to fatten, some time they are caught cut and turned back to be caught later after fattening up on the land. We use Blackmouths some.

yep,some time we castrate the small boars,it does fatten them up an helps to keep there numbers down..because of our terrian we use mixed breed dogs,alot of pitt,terrier,or bulldog ,dogs that will bay an grab at the same time, hold them untill we get there
