Well, I have this old Imperial slippy, have had it for years and year. Actually found it in my great aunt's house when we were liquidating it, it was with a few other older Imperials that belonged to my great uncle. Anyways, fo the longest time I thought it was crappy because it looks old and beat and what have you. But a while back, I sharpened it up real nice and stropped it good. Took one hell of an edge. Ever since then, its kinda been growing on me... Takes such a scarey sharp edge so easy, and holds it great. I mean, I can literally slicer the top layer of my skin off without bleeding with this!

So to the point. I'm impressed with whatever carbon steel this is, and would like ot find some more blades in it. So does anybody have any ideas? Seems to sharp up easier than my 1095 ka-bar and take a keener edge, but its also a much much smaller blade, so that may or may not be useful info. Here's a pic if anybody can help

I have a few old imperials my self, one a single bladed knife with the same handle design as yours.I also bought a couple for a $ or two when scrade went out and your right they do sharpen up nice!I would like to know the type of steel as well,I like a scary edge that comes back in seconds!

Old Imperials are plentiful on ebay. You can get as many as you want, for around $5-10 each.

At the peak of their production, Imperial was making up to 100,000 knives per day. Those cheap jackmasters sold well.

Oh I got a couple of nice folders. A little psuedo MOP handled gents slippy, the one a posted and gorgeously patina'ed barlow too. I was just curous at to the steel used because I fuind it the most favorable of all the steels I have used and would like to keep my eye open for other knives made from the same stuff.
