My father, who passed away last year, brought back an old Indian Kukri from his service during WWII. He never told me where he got it, and now I guess I'll never know. The knife is 14 " long, with the handle appearing to be made of some silver or nickle. The scabbard however is adourned with dark blue velvet, and heavily laden with a gold colored metal thread, and "pearl-like" beads. The tip of the scabbard has a 2 1/2" stainless steel tip. The word "India" has been engraved on the blade just under the handle. I sent 2 jpg's of it to Uncle Bill's Himalayan Imports, and was told that it's definitely an old Indian kukri. Is there anyone out there who might possibly tell me about this, and perhaps what it's worth.

The khukuri is post 1947. That is when an independent India came to be.

Uncle Bill said he would try posting the jpg's of the knife and scabbard later this evening. Thanks Uncle Bill.
