Picked up this old John Primble 5371 Stockman yesterday, it's got a broken main blade, but the other blades have nice strongsnap and the old feller' only wanted a few bucks for it.

Guess I could call it a "Half-Congress/Modified Stockman" :D

My guess is that it's a Schrade or Boker contract, leaning to Schrade, but I'll let more informed eyes have a say???

TLC, that is a sweet knife. To me a knife like that with a lot of character, is better in some ways then a knife that is mint. It looks like it still has a lot of whittling, opening mail, and skinning small game left in it. Joe

Thats a great knife there, used or a little busted like camo said it just gives it character. Id love to have a knife like that in my collection plus you only had to give a couple of bucks for it makes it even better. great find-Joel

I can't really explain why, but I just have a thing for John Primble knives. It's odd, cause none of my family knives that I have from passed away relatives are Primbles.

Nice knife!
It's funny,I just ran across an old primble that my grandfather bought me about 10 years ago, a little wood handles whitler, the blades were always really thick, and I could never get it to sharpen, well I ran across it and desided I was gona thin the blades a bit, forgoing a stone,I started with 220 and worked up to 800 grit sandpaper and finished on a loaded strop, now it's pretty sharp I've carried it some the last couple days and am finally starting to like it!
