Old kershaw wildcat ridge.

Hi I posted this in general but thought I would ask the experts here. I just sharpened up an old wildcat ridge 3140 for the groundskeeper in Costa Rica. It's seen a lot of use. It's stamped Japan. Also engraved as 19031 of 30000. Engraving is poor.

I was curious if anyone knows when these knives were first produced.

That is probably a Black Gulch model - the tang should have a model number on it -

As far back as I currently have the catalogs scanned - 97-98, they were made in USA, so that is a newer model.

It was a work knife when made, and still is a work knife now -

It's actually a copy of a series of Puma knives. I bought my first Puma version in 1986.
