I found this big toothpic in a box of my dads things. Any idea age or what it is? Seems to have very sharp carbon blades and my first guess would be an old Schrade. Thanks for any help guys.

Of course, it is an Imperial, made in Rhode Island, started around 1917.
The company made millions of very useful, inexpensive knives over the years, and eventually became part of the Schrade conglomerate around 1947. Correct me if I am remembering this wrong, any historians out there!!

Nice find, especially since it was your Dads.
My first knife purchase when I was a kid was an Imperial Toothpick with yellow plastic over the metal shell covers.

My dad had a bunch of my grandaddy's knives that I had no idea he had. There are some really cool fixed blade knives in there too. I saw one Schrade hunting knife from 1957 and another that had a stag handle with the word PIC and Solingen on the blade. I'll have to go through all of them.

With that blade stamp, itwas made between 1956 and 1981. Some of the best carbon steel ever produced...Herb

I was given one of these recently. They are fantastic knives and you really have to love that 1095.

But to the OP: be careful with 1095, it rusts if you look at it funny.
