Old knife from Grandfather

I just received this old knife from my Grandfather and have been looking some of the history up online and would like any input anyone may have. I think that the knife is over 40 years old, but not for sure as my Grandfather has been gone for many years now. I could only come up with one example of the same knife on e-bay, so I have no real comparison to worth or definite age of the knife. I have never heard of the brand before and don't anticipate it being worth a whole lot of money, just would like as much information I could get about it. I have attached some pictures for your viewing pleasure. I would mostly like to know if I should be carrying the knife around or put it up somewhere safe for future family members.

The knife is a Boker made in Solingen Germany. Their logo is the Tree. I'm no expert at all on Bokers but I think it is safe for you to carry it. I doubt that it is exceptionally valuable.

Hi broome2336,
this is one of my favorite knives thanks to my dad. I think yours is earlier than mine which are from the 50's.
I keep my dad's in the lower left of my display here and use a newer model but, if I didn't have others I would probably carry his sometimes.
Thanks for sharing yours, Mike:thumbup:

Great old knife.Put a little in the joints, sharpen, carry and use it.It should still be a good one for your own grandson.

Hi,

A beautiful Boker. It looks to have been well cared for during it's time with your Grandfather. Such a knife makes a great tie to your past. And I agree, oil it, sharpen it and carry it once in a while. It will do the both of you good.
