Has anyone ever seen or own a knife like this? I can't find anything about it online. I have had this knife for over 30 years and I don't even remember where I got it, LOL! It says PARKER Surgical Steel Japan on the tang and it has a nested leaf spring lock on the left side of the handle. I'm just wondering if this thing is a quality knife or if it was a hardware store counter display tool? It certainly looks like it has some stories to tell and the blade is still rock solid...no lock rock or anything.

I think you said about all there is to say when you mentioned "Parker" on the tang. Jim Parker imported dozens if not hundreds of different knife patterns from Japan. Most were of at least OK quality. I've carried and used several over the years.
Thanks! I'll dig deeper on Jim Parker and see what turns up!

For what it's worth, Parker became a member of the Blade magazine cutlery hall of fame in 1986.
