Old knife, new handle

A few years back, I bought a little custom knife made from 1095 steel. I failed to inform the maker that I need a large handle, and when I got it in the mail, I was very disappointed with the short, thin handle.

I finally sent it off to the fellow that does my knife re works. He has had the knife since the spring, but he is a busy guy, and thats fine.

He and I worked together on the handle, and went from Bloodwood to Black Micarta. It was a lot of work to get the new handle on the knife, but he did a heck of a good job.
First shot is the knife with the old handle, and then some shots of the knife as it looks with the new handle.
The knife was always sharp, and holds a great edge. It now has a handle big enough for me to add it in with the USER knives. :D

Russ Mikolajczyk up in NY State did the work. This is the second project he has done for me. He is on KnifeForums, but not here :(

Hands are 4.5 inches wide, 8.5 from wrist to finger tip, with a size 13.5 ring.

Mannlicher,

That looks great. Russ does an awesome job. I have three projects in the works with him now. I really like the photos of the job he did on your Busse also.

Thanks for sharing the photos, especially the top view.

not only does he do a great technical job, he is just a wonderful human being. I am getting ready to ask for another job from him.
