As a registered user, you can post pictures using a picture hosting site. I use Imgur, but there are others. Once you have uploaded a picture, copy the web address. Then go to your post and click the image tool on the toolbar next to the smiley tool. Paste the picture address into the resulting popup. Then click the INSERT button. Note: picture web addresses must end in .jpg or .gif

Thanks for the reply. I was looking for a way to post a picture.

What army was he in? In what war or years did he serve? I’ve never seen anything even close to that.

I see no reason to doubt the story. It looks old enough. Might not have been issued to him, but it would have been handy in the trenches.

ww1 behind them, the English empire still a reality. Must have been a great time to serve.

Solingen is the city in Germany where it was made. It's been a cutlery manufacturing center for centuries.

Very cool knife. When I first saw the photo I thought "Wow..a fixed blade Swiss Army Knife"!
Puma brand, Solingen stamped, yes very cool knife.

Translation from that page: "The Wehrmacht's tool knife is a trench dagger with integrated tools such as a screwdriver with sharpened edges for stripping cables, an awl with an eyelet, a corkscrew and another small blade with a bottle opener. The tool knife has a scales made of sturdy walnut which are attached with rivets and washers. It was guided by means of a spring sheath made of sheet metal on the belt or in the boot shaft. There are also examples known in special designs such as with a cartridge lifter for the MG 34 or with stag horn scales. I found a stamped '42' in the gag of my knife; it was probably made by Puma in 1942."
