Woo hoo she made through yet another down sizing, after dodgin' the layoff bullet for 20 years at AT&T we thought for sure this was her turn, (hell she's the only one with a job right now) we decided no matter what happened we'd go out for dinner with our daughter and either console or celebrate.

Well we celebrated, still has a job for now, every bullet she dodges just brings her closer to retirement.

Not only does she have a job, we stopped into a local car dealership on the way home and there was a radio station promotion going on with a contest drawing, well they pulled her ticket and she won a $50 gift card to a local restaurant.

A good end to a stressful day.

Layoffs were based on appraisals, she's the best at what she does, she's had a lot of practice, she close's AT&T buildings that are empty due to layoffs and down sizing. :D

Congrats on the continuing employment.

I work for a semiconductor company, and the worry about layoffs is fairly constant. Luckily, I'm an Engineer in the Reliability dept, and that one rarely gets hit. But it's severly depressing to see your co-workers walked out.

As a former Western Electric, then AT&T then Lucent Technologies employee I congratulate you. It took them thirty one years before they caught up with me and from what I understand Lucent is still undergoing down sizings.
