This machete was a gift from my uncle when I was around 12 or 13 years old (around 1954). He said that it was from the Philippines. I loved going through the bush with it like Ramar of the Jungle - anyone else remember that TV show? I haven't used it in decades and have stored it in a pile of other non used tools. It is still sharp after all that neglect. There are no markings on the blade. Is there any way to find out more about it?

Any marks on it? Otherwise all I can tell ya' is that it's a panga pattern.

It looks like a Martindale 750 series.

The shape of the bird's beak and the amount of dramatic sweep to the point don't seem quite right for it to be a match, but that does look very similar. Could still be one, though, and the older ones were made differently. It would almost certainly bear a stamped marking of a crocodile if that's the case.

It looks a bit like a WWII British made Sheffield Machete made for the US Military. The handle is about right and not all were marked.

The blade is close but looks a bit like a WWII German machete but the handle is wrong.

All I see in that is "Project" !!

Looks like something I'd be eager to restore and use. I'd sure keep the original handle but probably re-finish it a bit and leather wrap wrap it with a lanyard.

Nice.
