Got the pleasure of visiting with this knife for a short while and I've not seen one quite like it before.
The blade extends past the handle but is safely covered by a moving guard, which when the blade is opened can swing up and into the handle and prevents the knife from closing on your hand! It's a very strong slip joint folder and the swinging guard works very good, when open there is no play in the guard area at all, blade is solid...nice piece eh? Thought I'd share an image or two with you and if the owner wants he might join in to give the particulars on this piece...

A closer look closed...

Not sure, but she certainly is classic!

Closed length is 5 1/4"
Open length is 8 1/4"
Blade length is 4 1/8" tip to guard....

Hi Gary!

Hey you gotta show the scan of the sheath you made for it!

I knew Gary would come up with a beautiful belt sheath for it--much better the the original leather sheaths (pouch) that were made for these knives (if you can even find one!).

Its a Marbles Safety folder with real stag handles, probably post-World War I, but I'm not sure. Maybe Bernard Levine could help with pin-pointing the era. The pre-WW I's are more valuable.

I've been eyeing these for a long time ever since I saw one in Levine's guide to Knives (4th Edition), page 351.

I'm gonna love this knife with the custom G2 sheath!

PS I love stag-handled knives !

Very nice indeed. Love the stag handles and the way the knife folds up isvery unique. Also, it is a swing guard, and I love swing guards.

Ah the sheath, well that is also a little unusual but worked well, I really liked that knife, but I guess they are a bit hard to come by!

Here is the sheath for right side vertical carry, snaps into place nice and secure...

Thanks Buzz and Jeff, she fell into place nicely!

I'm sure the heck glad Gary still does leather sheaths!

As soon as I saw this knife and opened it and closed it and felt the wonderful stag handles, I knew it needed a wonderful G2 sheath!

WOW is the 1st thing that comes to my mind about that sheath, very nice. Very intersting desgin on the knife, would love to feel it and see its workings.

Man you guys know how to make me drool, I've always wanted a Marbles Safety knife ever since I started collecting, went so far as to buy a imitation just to hold one,(wound up giving it away cause it made me feel dirty). Gary beautiful job on the sheath, you are a true craftsman.
